Alignment Tips For Golf - Getting Set Up Correctly Makes A Huge Difference!
If you know anything about golf, then you know that in order to hit the target you are aiming for there are many components that go into the swing. One thing that is completely necessary to help you hit your target is to get some very good alignment tips. If you are not aligned correctly at your target, then you will never stand a chance when it comes to hitting your actual target. This means that you will miss a lot of fairways and greens. Here is what you should know about aligning properly.
First, most golfers do not know what should be aligned with the target. It is not your feet, your shoulders, or your hips. In fact your entire body should be aligned parallel left of the target (for a right handed player) just like railroad tracks. The part of the club that you want aligned with the target is the face of your club. This should make perfect sense since you are going to be hitting the ball with the face of the club towards your target.
Second, when it comes to alignment tips the best thing you can do is get a few aids to help you with your alignment. These are very cheap and can be purchased at any hardware store. What you want are a couple of straight fiber glass rods, usually used to put around a mailbox. These work great for getting your feet and your shoulders correctly aligned with the target. Another great one of the alignment tips is to use the sticks on the ground about a foot apart. Then, you can put the ball in between them and practice lining up the club face perpendicular to them.
Last, you also need to take into account the ball flight that you play. If you are playing a fade into your target it would not make sense to line the club face up with your target exactly. You want to compensate for how much you think you are going to fade the ball. The same goes with a draw. This will allow you to move the ball into the target and if you can get aligned correctly you will hit your target more often. You will also have better missed shots, which can drop your handicap considerably.
