Stop Feet Pain With Arch Supports

Many people suffer with problems due to flat feet but the sad thing is that they don't realize that in most cases the reason behind the difficulty can be easily corrected with a good Arch Support. As a family doctor I spend a lot of time treating patients with protracted conditions they are going to have for the rest of their lives ( high blood pressure, diabetes, etc ). Therefore I love it when patients come in with problems associated with flat-feet. This is one of the few problems I can actually fix and best of all it does not require a medication to fix it.

The medical term for flat feet is hyperpronation, meaning excesive pronation. The motion of pronation is simply the flattening out of the arch during the step. Pronation is critical because it allows the foot to take in shock. Additionally, pronation permits all of the bones of the to loosen-up and become like a'bag of bones'. Being a loose'bag of bones' enables the foot to adapt to uneven surfaces ( uphill, downhill, sandy beach, for example. ). A little bit of, pronation is a nice thing. Hyperpronation ( over-pronation ) is not good at all.

The difficulty with flat feet or over-pronation is that the foot remains pronated across the step. The foot does not undergo supination. Supination is the exact opposite of pronation. In supination the foot internally rotates up from the floor. Supination tightens-up the bones of the mid-foot and turns the foot into a rigid lever arm to provide an efficient push-off and launch the body ahead. If the foot can't supinate it remains essentially a loose'bag of bones' and you are unable to use the foot as an efficient, firm lever arm for push off.

Someone with flat feet pain has awfully wasteful foot function and this can lead to heel pain, muscle aches and shin splints. By adding arch supports, the foot is forestalled from hyperpronating and this improves the over-all potency of the foot function.

Occasionally you can buy an Arch Support off-the-shelf that provides support. However , in most situations, the off-the-shelf insoles only provide cushioning and do not correct the hyper-pronation. Life is much too short to suffer experiencing discomfort, especially when the issue can be simply corrected. If somebody has discomfort as the result of flat-feet it is smart to spend the additional cash to purchase a custom arch support which will solve the issue once and for all.
